| Georgia State University- General Classroom | Atlanta, Georgia |
The Challenge: To upgrade GSU, 12 story general classroom/departmental Building in accordance to American Disability Acts and to provide proper amount of plumbing fixtures to comply with the current building codes. AE Design Solution: To provide field investigations to identify all the rest rooms floor by floor. Study the existing the building and provide field verifications if needed to know exactly the existing conditions and provide practical solutions specifically for general classroom floors as well as those floors which are used by the departments. If toilet fixtures are reduced due to the new ADA requirements, we have to check the current building codes and add new rest rooms as required. In addition, coordinate with mechanical engineers for new rest room configuration and tie-in the existing plumbing and ventilation stacks. Finally, devised a workable plan for the stages of the renovations while keep the office and classrooms in function. |
