The Challenge:

To provide a centralized computer data center with multiple back-up system under an existing, unused building basement with no windows and outdoor access.

AE Design Solution:

Worked closely with the facility to define the current need and future expansion of a network data center for whole campus. Worked with Electrical and mechanical engineers to provide the proper electrical load and mechanical cooling load accordingly for the current and future data center. Added a new outside driveway for accessing the lower floor directly from outside. Worked and devised a workable plan to house the whole campus network department along with datacenter with room for future expansion. Added windows, doors, corridors, break room and conference room and HVAC system to make a real department home.
