The Challenge:

To update a chemistry laboratory to become a BSL-3 level laboratory with the intentions of reusing the facility with minimum renovation.

AE Design Solution:

Worked closely with the facility and research scientist to review the existing, and to evaluate the special needs for the new facility. To provide the final design to conform to NIH guidelines for research involving Recombinant DNA Molecules and to comply CDC/NIH publication “Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical laboratories, 4th Edition. To coordinate with the third party commissioner group for the final inspection.
