The Challenge:

Design a new outpatient cancer center on an extremely narrow site without impeding the functionality of the facility.

AE Design Solution:

To prevent the building from becoming too rectilinear, we designed a drop off canopy at the building corner with a forty-five degree angle, which allows the canopy to be visually integrated with the building roofline while enhancing the flow of traffic around the site. The plan enabled the facility to house both medical and radiation oncology suites and leave space for an additional linear accelerator in the future.
