The Challenge:

Design the shell and interior of a suburban three-story medical office building to serve as an outreach center of The Kirklin Clinic's downtown facility. The building needed to simultaneously project a soothing, residential feel and maximize visibility from the nearby interstate highway.

AE Design Solution:

Utilizing modern materials and classical forms, we capitalized on our radiation and oncology master planning experience to design an exterior with a high sloping roof to add height, increase visibility, and maximize daylight for patient comfort, and an interior design that integrates facility functions and aesthetics. The interior contains TomoTherapy, radiation and medical oncology facilities as well as cardiology, surgery and ob/gyn suites.
