The Challenge:

Incorporating the challenge of a steep hillside location, design a new seven-story medical office complex and parking deck with pedestrian access to an adjacent hospital.

AE Design Solution:

To accommodate vehicular access and drop off at the lowest level, we positioned the parking deck on the low side of the hill with the offices at the top to maximize sunlight. An enclosed pedestrian connection bridge was attached to the hospital for convenient access. In a second phase, we built out part of the ground floor for radiation oncology with minimal disturbance to the ongoing activities in the surrounding space.
